As voters were going to the polls in Indiana, the GOP race became even nastier, as Donald Trump and Ted Cruz engaged in a series of verbal attacks, each candidate arguing that the other is totally unsuited to be the Republican Party nominee or President of the United States.

The uproar began after Trump latched on to a supermarket tabloid story that linked the father of Cruz to Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy.

In a meeting with reporters in the Hoosier State, Cruz bitterly attacked Trump.

“Donald Trump alleges that my dad was involved in assassinating JFK,” Cruz said. “Now, lets’ be clear – this is nuts. This is kooky.”

“Yes, my dad killed JFK, he is secretly Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa is buried in his backyard,” Cruz said sarcastically.

Cruz went further, labeling Trump – among other things, “utterly amoral,” “a serial philanderer” and a “pathological liar.”

Not to be outdone, Trump blistered Cruz in a written statement, saying Cruz was becoming “more and more unhinged.”
